Apple iOS 6 : Was it worth the wait ?

Apple customers around the world got their first taste of  iOS 6 on the iPad and iPhone Wednesday — and as  with any major upgrade, there were headaches as well as delights in store. The Apple iOS 6 upgrade made it to public downloading . According to Apple, iOS 6 has more than 200+ new features and is aimed to deliver a stable and responsive mobile operating-system to all recent iDevice.
While majority of these 200+ new features are nothing more than minor tweaks and cosmetic changes, the major new features are new Apple Maps, improved Siri, Passbook, tight Facebook integration throughout the OS, Shared Photo Streams, Facetime over cellular, new calling features like call decline with text message or a callback reminder, Do Not Disturb mode, iCloud tabs and the ability to update apps without having to enter your password.
The new OS had its share of teething troubles, most notably a Wifi login bug that Apple quickly and mysteriously resolved. Other users saw ongoing problems with accessing music on their iPhones.
The troubles started with the process of downloading the massive update itself, which clocked in at a hefty 2.5 GB. iOS 6 is an “over the air” upgrade, meaning no connection to iTunes is required.
Apple servers seemed to hold up pretty well under the pressure, although users saw wildly different download times depending on their connection, location and time of day — from a few minutes all the way up to 5 hours. Some users reported that their Music libraries had suddenly vanished. Playlist, Artist and Album names all remained, but the tracks themselves were unavailable. A spinning wheel in the upper left corner of the device’s screen indicated that the Music app was trying to access something, but the songs remained stubbornly invisible, even to Siri. Apple bought three mapping companies to make maps happen, and has had years to refine it. How bad could it be? The answer, I’m not happy to say as an Apple fan, is very bad indeed. Near to the degree of "unusable" bad. Maps takes all the trust Apple has built up among its users over the years — trust that its products just work — and squanders nearly all of it in one go.
Many found a greater problem was in store when the update installed itself, and froze with an apparently empty progress bar. If they were patient, however, the bar would suddenly show a lot of progress very fast — as much as an hour later.

  6. You actually make it look so easy with your performance but I find this matter to be actually something which I think I would never comprehend. It seems too complicated and extremely broad for me. I'm looking forward for your next post, I’ll try to get the hang of it!
